So, the world has come to a place now where we need technology to simulate a positive mood.
The happiness counter is a fridge developed by the University of Tokyo. This fridge opens only when you smile! This device is equipped with a Sony cyber shot digital camera and a smile recognition software with attached sensors that identifies the grin you flash at the sensor and unlocks the refrigerator.
While currently, this is used only in a fridge, the technology can be applied to a host of other devices like your conference rooms. So next time you are entering a board meeting, you just have to smile.
The idea behind developing the Happiness Counter is to spread positivity. I am not sure if this is really cool or totally creepy.
Have we reached a phase in our life where we really require technology to make us happy and positive? What happened to the good old days when a chocolate or a walk or music would do the trick.
